Opening night in Portland a Success! Only 9 more screenings this weekend!

The Portland Mercury called FUEL "Astounding."

COMMENT FROM LAST NIGHT:

It is our civic responsibility to see this film and spread the word!!

It is our civic responsibility to see this film and spread the word!! Fuel will inspire and motivate Americans to change our economic and energy policies, and Portlanders have the opportunity to help bring this film to the main stream. I was there at opening night and was amazed, shocked, entertained and inspired. There are "solutions." Josh Tickell has spent the last 11 years of his life finding the solutions to our dependency on oil and teaching others about them. There are only a few more showings of Fuel while it in in Portland. Be there! Then you can say you were there at the beginning when Fuel ignited the country's economic and energy policy revolution. Bring your parents, your brothers and sisters, tell you friends about it, teach your kids, do your part and help Portland help Josh Tickell start The Movement.

Chris PDX

After a long awaited 11 years, it was exciting to watch as people lined up outside the box office.

PB130131;

Our 7:30 showing was completely sold out.

PB130152;

People were even sitting on the floor during the Q&A!

PB130148

Josh made a mad dash out of the screening to do a public access show on Hemp and how it can be used for fuel - very entertaining;)

Tell everyone you know to go see FUEL this weekend in Portland. Our ability to go to other cities depends on it.

See you there!

Great movie

Thanks, Josh for the hard work!!! The movie was awesome!!!!!

PDX must see FUEL!

Since 9/11 and throughout the war in Iraq and the recent election, I have had a feeling of anxiety regarding our nation's politics, global interactions, and economy, but this film gave me a positive feeling of empowerment. As a mother, I want to do my part to improve the way we do things to positively affect the world my daughter will encompass. I strongly encourage Portlanders to support the film "Fuel." Bring your family and friends.

A compelling film

I'm glad I was among the first to see this film (my daughter brought me). It really is more a matter of will as concerned citizens than anything else that prevents us from leaving petroleum behind -- along with the war and pollution it engenders - in favor of cheaper, greener alternatives. In Portland, however, it's a little bit preaching to the converted. This film needs to be seen in the many cities where they're still not getting it. I'll do my best to get the word out to my friends in the DC area.

Portland - Please Don't Underestimate Your Impact

Portland is one of the greenest cities in America and for that reason - I can't emphasize how important Portland is. As environmentalists, we have the tendancy to think we have it all figured out and we don't need to watch another eco doc. Well, that may be true. But - in order to get this film out to a larger, nationwide audience, Portland has to show successful box office numbers. While the assumption of theaters is that an eco doc isn't a good film to book, there's nothing that speaks to theaters like money. So, Portlanders, don't go see FUEL for yourself. Go see FUEL in Portland for the rest of the country. Bring friends, bring family, come see it two times - three times - whatever it takes.

The film plays at least til Thursday. Thanks for your support - get out and see it!

Thank you for being my partners,

Josh

WE NEED CHANGE

CANT WAIT TO TAKE THE ENTIRE FAMILY TO SEE THIS MOVIE.

greetings

I send you greetings form Argentine and i hope I could find the film translated in spanish. Thank you for trying to change the world.

Great film

First of all I would like to say thank you for this film!! Thank you so very much. This film was extreamly informative and at the same time entertaining. It kept my interest from the opening credits to the ending credits.....Moving and inovative. Probably the most important film of our age. Please please dont let this go away without seeing it. See it, learn from it, and share what you learned. I hope to see it again soon. Highly recomended!

Make the entire movie available on-line please.

I've not seen the film yet. I missed it at the St. Louis International Film Festival. I'd like to suggest that you make this movie available on-line free of charge as just a small video. Folks who wish to support you will certainly by the full frame, full resolution DVD in addition to watching the movie on-line. I know that I certainly would buy it. By way of explanation, I am also a director of documentaries. They've aired on public television stations across the U.S., been sold by PBS home video, and even sold-out a 4500 seat theater. What little money was made from all of that isn't even enough to produce the trailer for my next project! I've learned that if you produce documentaries to become rich you're better off playing the lottery. Surely you must know that as well. We do what we do in order to present an important message to as many people as possible. Your message in particular is constantly evolving. You can not simply wait for a distributor to take a gamble on it or hope that the right audience will eventually find it. Please put the entire movie on your website, with shorter clips on You Tube to draw people to it, and then give visitors to your site the opportunity to either contribute directly or buy the DVD. Such an important subject can't be about ego or money - leave that to the oil companies!

Went to see Fuel in Seattle tonight!

I was there. I hope it made a difference. Not many people there tonight but hopefully there will be over the course of the week. I agree with everything that was said in the film, and was surprised you addressed every angle (For instance, I was sitting there wondering if the movie was going to address the fact that biofuels are more environmentally hazardous because of all the land it takes to grow them.) I will be telling everyone I know to go see it, and posting up some postcards. The most amazing part was that mega-flora tree. Now that's an amazing tree. I was just thinking in my head, that's the type of thing you get when you put great minds to science. Thankfully we have Barack now and things might make a turnaround. Good Luck with everything!
